Human stomach contains epithelial, glandular and muscular tissue - give examples of functions of each of these tissues

Epithelial tissue lines the inner surface of the stomach and provides protection. Glandular tissue produces enzymes such as proteases which can digest and break down proteins, it also secretes acid which keeps a low pH in the stomach to kill bacteria. Muscular tissue allows contraction of the stomach for peristalsis to move and help mechanically digest the stomach's contents (food)
