what is a good method for revising for english or prepping for an exam?

For English, it is key to not get overwhelmed with memorising poems or passages from the texts that you're studying. Make sure you have read through any texts that you are covering at least twice and annotated key sections from set texts. You don't have to memorise whole poems - get some flashcards and jot down key quotes and read over them during revision, before bed, etc so that you can remember them more easily! A good revision strategy is to give yourself an hour and try to make 6 essay plans, each with an intro, titles for 3 or so paragraphs (which will be your argument, try to come up with a couple of quotes for each paragraph) and a conclusion. That way you can look at more essay questions and really develop good arguments in your head for questions.
