Express 112 as a product of it's prime factors.

The easiest way to approach this problem is using a break down tree from the number at the top of the page. Firstly, you can divide 112 by 2 to get 56. Circle the number 2 as this is prime and can no longer be divided into. Secondly, you can break this number 56 down into 7 and 8 from your page, demonstrated using two branches leaving the number 56 on your tree. You can circle the number 7 as it is prime and no more has to be done with this number. With this final number 8, the short approach would be to recognise 8 = 23 therefore nothing more has to be done and our answer is 112 = 24x7, however, we can still follow the process prior, and breakdown our 8 into 2 and 4, circle our 2, and then finally break our 4 down into 2x2, each final step of the method gives the correct answer.
