World War I and World War II have been described as a 'second thirty year war', discuss.

Example Answer: This quote, from a French historian in 1946 encapsulates how the end of the World War I never really occurred, and any peace attempts thereafter were ultimately a failure, thus leading to an inevitable secondary conflict better known as WW2. It summarises the feeling that the Versailles peace treaty of 1918 merely created the atmosphere and platform of revenge that Hitler and his National Socialist party would later exploit after the fall of the Weimar Republic. Hitler was able to manipulate and ultimately weak treaty that was too harsh and not reinforced by Woodrow Wilson's flailing and idealistic League of Nations.
