A quarter circle has a radius of 6 cm. Calculate the area of the quarter circle.

It is very easy to calculate the area of the whole circle and divide it by 4.The area of the whole circle can be calculated using the formula A = pir2, where r is the radius of the circle and pi has a value of 3.1415 (can approximate this to 3.14). If using a calculator just input the real value of pi and approximate to the correct number of decimal points (in this case, 2).The area of the circle will be A = 3.1462=3.14*36=113.04 cm2The area of the quarter circle will be Aqc= 113.04/4 =28.26 cm2
