Compare the structure of a eukaryote and prokaryote cell.

A prokaryote is a much smaller and simpler cell than a eukaryote, whereas as prokaryote is usually 0.2 to 2.0um eukaryotes are 10-100um. Due to the small size, prokaryotes don't have a nucleus, which also mean there DNA is in a different formation to eukaryotes. Prokaryotes also have smaller ribosomes too. Prokaryotes DNA are in small circular chromosomes, whereas prokaryotes have linear DNA wrapped around histones that are then packaged inside eukaryotes. As prokaryotes are simpler it also means they don't have whats known as membrane-bound organelles, so they don't have any Golgi apparatus, mitochondria or endoplasmic reticulum, whereas a eukaryote has all of these things. Prokaryotes often have a cell wall whereas not all eukaryotes do.
