How do you find the length of a side of a right-angled triangle given the angle and the hypotenuse?

First label the triangle to show the opposite, adjacent and hypotenuse. Then you can use SOHCAHTOA to determine which trig function is needed. If you need to work out the opposite you use the sin function and if you need to work out the adjacent you use the cos function. as sin(angle) = opposite/hypotenuse then opposite = sin(angle) x hypotenuse. as cos(angle) = opposite/hypotenuse then opposite = cos(angle) x hypotenuse.

Solve the simultaneous equations: 8x + 2y =46, and 7x + 3y = 47

How to factorise a quadratic with a coefficient of x^2 greater than one, for example 4x2+4x-15?

4x-y=3 and 3x-2y=1. Solve these simultaneous equations to find values for x and y.

Claire drove from Manchester to London, it took her 4 hours at an average speed of 85 km/h. Matt drove from Manchester to London, it took him 5 hours. Assuming he took the same route as Claire and took no breaks, work out his average speed in km/h.
