find the root or roots of the following equation: 2x^2 + 18x + 36

finding the roots, means to find the coordinates at which the curve intersects the X axis. At first look you may notice that each function in the equation is divisible by 2, you can do this to make solving the equation necessary2x2+18x+36=0 (divide by 2)x2+9x+18=0now you can factorise the equation. Remember: the 2 x values at the roots must multiply give you the constant and add to give the x value in the above equation. (x+3)(x+6)=0
