What is the difference between a histogram and a bar chart? How can I find the frequency density?

In a bar chart, the vertical axis represents the frequency. On the other hand, in a histogram, it is the area which represents the frequency. Therefore, the label of the vertical axis on a histogram should be frequency density.

We know that Area = Frequency = Frequency density x Class width

Therefore,

Frequency density = Frequency/Class width
