What is the role of ADH in water homeostasis?

Homeostasis is maintaing the body's internal environment. Antidiuretic Hormone (ADH) is synthesised in the hypothalamus and secreted by the pituitary gland in response to low water in the body. It acts on the kidneys and causes the reabsorption of water from the flitrate/urine. This leads to an increase in the water reabsorbed into the body and a decrease urine volume. The urine produced will be concentrated.

If less ADH is secreted, the volume of urine will increase. It will also be less concentrated because there is more water in it.
