Write π‘₯Β²+6π‘₯+11 in the form (π‘₯+a)Β²+b.

This question wants you to "complete the square". To start this question we put a = (coefficient of x)/2 = 6/2 = 3.So far we have π‘₯Β²+6π‘₯+11 = (π‘₯+3)Β²+b. We now need to find b. We can expand and simplify the right hand side to get π‘₯Β²+6π‘₯+11 = π‘₯Β²+6π‘₯+9+b. We should now be able to see that b=2. So π‘₯Β²+6π‘₯+11 = (π‘₯+3)Β²+2.
