How do you form the present subjunctive in French?

To form the present subjunctive, you need to use the third person plural form ('ils'/'elles') of the present tense. Simply take off the '-ent' at the end and add the following endings:-e, -es, -e, -ions, -iez, -ent. For regular endings, see 'chanter' (=to sing). Take the stem (3rd person plural, present tense) then add the endings as follows: chant-e ; chant-es ; chant-e ; chant-ions ; chant-iez ; chant-ent
