1-bromopentane has a higher boiling point than 2-bromo-2-methylbutane Both isomers have vanderwaahls forces and dipole dipole forces 1-bromopentane is a primary isomer whereas 2-bromo-2-methylbutane is a tertiary isomer meaning there is less surface area in contact between molecules hence lower intermolecular forces
