y = 6x^2 + 8x + 2. Find dy/dx

y = 6x+ 8x + 2

To find the first derivative of this equation, we must multiply the powers of x with the coefficient. Therefore, we do 2 times 6 (2 is the power and 6 is the coefficient) for the first term, and 8 times 1 for the second term (1 is the power and 8 is the coefficient) and 2 times 0 for the last term. Therefore our final answer is dy/dx = 12x + 8.
