What is the difference between mitosis and meiosis?

Simply enough, Mitosis creates two cells that have the same number of chromosomes and identical chromosomes to the original cell and Meiosis creates 4 cells that have half the amount of chromosomes that are all different. Meiosis involves two stages of replication where Mitosis only includes one.Mitosis creates 2 identical, daughter cells and Meiosis creates 4 haploid non-identical daughter cells. Meiosis creates sperm cells and egg cells, aiding in varying our genetic makeup, while mitosis is for general replication and repair.
