What is natural selection?
Within a population of a species there is great geetic variation giving rise to variation in their phentoypes. Some phenotypes enable an organism to be better adapted to its environment than other members of their species. This means that they have a better chance of surviving and passing on their advantageous genes to their offspring, To summarise, the process of natural selection means that organisms with the most well adapted features to a given environment are selected for and thus survive to produce offspring.
