1) First factorise the quadratic equationTwo numbers whose product is 'c' and sum is 'b'In this question, c= 6 and b= 76 x 1 = 6 and 6 + 1 = 7So your two numbers are 6 and 1--> x2 + 7x + 6 = (x + 6) (x+1)
2) Rewrite quadratic equation to equal zero--> (x+6) (x+1) = 0Therefore.. (x+6) = 0 and (x+1) = 0
3) Solve to find values of xx+6 = 0 so x= -6x+1 = 0 so x = -1These values of x are the roots of the quadratic equation. These are the points where the quadratic graph crosses the x-axis
