Hey I am having difficulties solving simultaneous equations? Please may you help me!

Yes of course.
I will start with an example. Try and solve these simultaneous equations I will talk you through the model answer below.
3x + y = -4 3x - 4y = 6
Notice both equations contain 3x we can therefore rearrange these equations to make both equal 3x
3x = -4 - y3x = 6 + 4y
Therefore we can make these equal to eliminate values of x and find y
-4 - y = 6 + 4y5y = -10y = -2
The substitute this y value into one of the equations
3x - 2 = -43x = -2x = -2/3
