How do humans have heart attacks?

For AQA GCSE you need to have an understanding of coronary heart disease, the factors that lead to it and the available treatments. The coronary artery is the vessel that supplies the heart with glucose and oxygen. If the coronary artery gets blocked then less glucose and oxygen gets to the heart for respiration. If the heart doesn't have enough glucose and oxygen then it will stop beating and a heart attack will occur. This can be compared to a blocked pipe, in a blocked pipe less water can get through *show picture of blocked drain compared to blocked artery". I would then go on to talk about what makes heart disease more likely and the available treatment options.
