Please can we go over the formation and use of the conditional tense?

The conditional is a tense that follows all the rules. Once you learn these rules, you can use the conditional of any French verb. This is the tense we use when we're expressing conditionality, i.e. things that you would do. In English, you will recognise it as follows:"I would do this.""I would say that.""I would go there."In your exam, you're most likely to use it to talk about things that would happen in the future. To form this tense, you need to learn two things (and you're likely to have already have come across them):* Future stems* Imperfect verb endings[future stem + imperfect verb ending = conditional conjugation]Future stems:These are almost always formed by taking the infinitive of the verb, and knocking off the ending. That leaves you with the future stem. The irregular stems are exactly the same group as the verbs that are irregular in the future tense, and are formed in exactly the same way.Imperfect verb endings:* ais* ais* ait* ions* iez* aient (the one with all the vowels)
