What is an inverse function?

An inverse function essentially gives us the opposite output for the same input of a function and cab be graphically represented as a reflection on the y=x axis.To find algebraically the inverse of a function, we can simply swap out our function for a variable y to replace f(x) and then we rearrange to make x a function of y. To complete our final answer, we finally need to replace the y terms with x and replace our subject of the formula with f^-1(x) to signify that this is an inverse function.
