How do I do well in the oral exam?

The oral exam is about confidence: if you're at ease with the language, you'll understand the questions asked of you and remember all of the things you wanted to get in. Immerse youself in French in the weeks coming up to the exam - practice speaking as much as possible with other (preferably fluent) speakers of French, listen to French radio online, read the French press and try and do mundane tasks (making a to-do list, for example) in French. Remember that the oral exam requires you to have an opinion on topics, defend those opinions and expand on your answers, whilst showcasing a range of structures. You can work on model answers with a tutor or teacher, which will also build your confidence. In short, the oral exam will be a lot easier if you've had as much practice as possible speaking in French and if you've tried to immerse yourself in a French environment before the exam.
