What is Historiography?

The term Historiography refers to the study of how history developed as an academic discipline, specifically of the methodology of historians and hoz they write/record historical events. Historiographic methodolody most often includes the critical analysis of both primary and secondary source materials, which are subsequently synthesized into a narrative or arugument concerning a specific event/series of events. It can also refer to the theory and history of historical writing itself.
