Explain the differences between meiosis and mitosis

Mitosis: Will produce 2 daughter cells that are genetically IDENTICAL. Used for growth and repair. Meiosis: Produces 4 daughter cells from a parent cell and they will all be genetically unique. Will produce gametes (sex cells) such as eggs or sperm.
