What is the best way to structure a timed essay?

Before beginning any essay it is always helpful to have a clear structure in mind and to spend a few minutes applying your structure to the question you are given. A simple framework that can be moulded to fit the question the exam is asking is the best strategy when trying writing a timed essay in order to ensure that it remains concise and that it answers what the question is specifically asking. An effective essay structure contains an explanatory introduction, around 4-6, also structured paragraphs, and a summative conclusion. Each paragraph must outline a new point, provide examples relating to the point, show knowledge of contextual evidence and relate back to the question in order to display maximum knowledge.
