MyTutor’s TikTok Textbook: Getting you ready for exams

It’s exam season… but not to worry! Our free TikTok textbook is here to help you every step of the way. Over the next 10 weeks, we’ll be posting a series of helpful study videos on our TikTok account to help you smash revision.

Study tips, topic explainers and self-care videos

Watch our expert tutors break down the trickiest GCSE and A-level questions. We used data from Google and our Answers resource centre to find out which topics students look for support with the most – and find the hardest. And with the creativity and subject expertise of our team of tutors, this video series should help you master the toughest parts of your subjects.

They’ll also give you loads of tips on how to answer exam questions (it is a skill!) and how to tackle revision. Because our tutors are students at top unis themselves, they know what it’s like to sit exams–and how to study to get their best grade. They also know how this time of year can be stressful too, so they’ll go over ways you can switch off and just relax.

Here are our tutors and what topics they’ll cover in their video series…

Maths with Alieu

Say hello to Alieu – a Law student at the University of Warwick. His Maths videos use a combo of captions, explanations and diagrams to make tricky GCSE topics seem like a piece of cake.

English Lit & Lang with Sophie

Here’s Sophie – an English student at Leeds University. She breaks down whole topics for English lit in 1-min videos – perfect for getting a quick overview.

English Lit & Lang and Spanish with Elizabeth

Here’s Elizabeth – a Spanish and English student at Birmingham University. She’s a qualified English tutor and a Spanish teacher too. Elizabeth explains topics and shares revision advice using captions. She voices answers so students can hear the right pronunciations. In some videos, she invites you to repeat after her, so you’re getting that practice in.

Study tips and Sociology with Janice

Meet Janice – a Law graduate from Nottingham University. To help with A level Sociology and revision in general, she uses diagrams and captions to share her top tips. Plus, she gives loads of encouragement and helpful self-care advice (which we can all use a bit more of!).

Chemistry with Haziq

This is Haziq – a Medical student at University College London. In his videos, he uses the MyTutor lesson space to draw chemical equations with diagrams so you can follow step-by-step.

Maths and Physics with James

Say hi to James! He’s a PhD student at the University of Sheffield with lots of tutoring experience at GCSE and A-level. He draws diagrams on a whiteboard with a voiceover to explain tough Maths and Physics topics.

French with Sophie

Here’s Sophie – a Languages grad from the University of St Andrews. She’s a multi-linguist who breaks down tough French language concepts using perfect pronunciation so you can easily follow along.

Physics with Preshayla

Meet Preshayla – a Physics student at Loughborough University. She’s super energetic and creative in explaining Physics topics. Plus she uses everyday objects lying about the house (like a slinky, if you have a slinky lying around…) and brings to life concepts like the conservation of energy.

Wellbeing and self-care tips with Francesca

This is Francesca, an English graduate from the University of Exeter. She’s our wellbeing coach. Her study and self-care advice, plus her affirmations and encouragement – are there to get you through revision stress.

Maths with Saffron

And last but not least, say hi to Saffron – a Civil Engineering student at Leeds University. In her videos she uses music, hand-written diagrams and easy to follow explanations to make tricky Maths topics fun!

You can join them all on our @MyTutorUK TikTok channel, starting this week and get revision sorted.
