Becoming a Tutor

A March update from MyTutor | Referral scheme, Ramadan tips and an update from your Reps⭐

As university strikes have come to an end recently this month, we hope many of you haven’t been too negatively impacted by them, and are feeling confident and ready ahead of exam and deadline season. Here’s what’s been going on at MyTutor:

Easter Schools Programmes – they’re back🐣

Looking for extra work during the holidays? From the 27th of March, lessons from our Easter Schools Programmes will become available for you to pick up. These’ll start on the 3rd or 10th of April.

These slots will be more intense than usual as they’re over a shorter space of time (a lesson a day over 1-2 weeks). The lessons should cover the areas of focus as normal, but with a specific focus on revision and exam techniques. When you accept a slot, please commit to attending every day as these lessons are super important in supporting our pupils ahead of exam season. So from next Monday, keep an eye on your School Opportunities page as we expect these to be snapped up quickly!

Check out your School Opportunities page.

Lessons during Ramadan🌙

Ramadan Mubarak to all those who celebrate it. Ramadan is a holy month of fasting for Muslims. It started on March 22nd and it’ll end on April 21st. If you or your pupils take part in it, here are some things to consider:

  • Adjust the timings of your lessons
  • Remember to take regular breaks
  • Chat with each other about things that might help

Read our blog for tips on how to revise while observing Ramadan.

Refer a friend and get £30 if they’re successful💸

This month we’ve increased how much you can earn for referring a friend! Now you can get £30 if someone you refer becomes a tutor with us. You can do this by sending them an email invite, or by copying your own unique link and sharing it with them. Both of these can be done from the Referrals section on your profile. Find out more about this by reading our T&Cs.

Tutor Reps update – what was discussed recently 💬?

As always, your tutor reps have been gathering feedback from you on a monthly basis, and they continue to catch up with the MyTutor team on everything tutors.

Here are some of the key points that came across last month:

  • Schools pay band system and new incentives
  • Schools and lesson changes/cancellations
  • Parents, lesson reviews and free meetings
  • Lesson space suggestions

Don’t forget – you can still get involved by getting in touch with your tutor reps on our tutors’ Facebook forum by using the #tutorreps hashtag, or leave a suggestion here.

View the full detailed notes on our reps site.

All the best – we’ll catch up with you next month!

Thanks,

The MyTutor team

As always, if you have any questions or feedback, we’d love to hear from you. You can reach us on tutors@mytutor.co.uk or 0203 773 6024.
