Put on your finest ‘fit and grab some fizz, it’s time for the 2023 Tutor Awards.
Anyone who’s had a MyTutor lesson (or peered over the shoulder of someone who’s having one) knows that it’s about much more than just improving grades.
You’re mentors. Confidence builders. You inspire a love of your subject.
To celebrate this, and give a tiny glimpse of the MyTutor magic that goes on every day, we asked parents to nominate a tutor that’s inspired their teen.
And the results are in 🥁
It’s clear that MyTutor tutors are the best in the business. We had plenty of nominations from proud parents, raving about the way you, our tutors, have gone above and beyond, lesson after lesson.
Picking the winners was tough, but we’re pleased to announce…

📚 Bethan H., who tutors Media
Her nominator said:
“I can hand on heart say that without Bethan from My Tutor, my son would not have gotten into his first choice Uni today. We felt that he wasn’t getting the right support from his College as he didn’t know how to attack exams. He’s been a GCSE covid year so had sat major exams in his room and they weren’t addressing this. Bethan not only improved his Media mock from a D to a B, but with her exam guidance improved his Business Studies from an E to a B and Psychology from an F to a D. THANK YOU Bethan!” – Nina B
🚓 George K., who tutors Law
His nominator said:
“My son was really struggling with Law A-level at school, so we decided to get him a tutor through MyTutor. Our first port of call was a 15 min free session. George made an impression on my son straight away. He was enthusiastic, spent ages with him (beyond session time) and made everything suddenly clear.
George initially told my son to find another tutor as he had done a different exam board but my son could see there was something special about him and so we asked (begged!) him to give it a go. Immediately George did all his research so he was familiar with the exam board.
He made presentations individually designed for my son to give him before tutor sessions (in fact his pre and post lesson work was astonishing – he worked so hard). As a result my previously disengaged son started to enjoy the subject again, finally understanding things.
Before exams, George K worked extra sessions with my son, staying up late with him and being available through message afterwards to ensure no question went unanswered. As a result my son went up a whole grade thanks to George K., and is now going to his first choice university. A truly remarkable tutor who really went above and beyond.” – Gemma M

“At the start of A Levels my daughter was predicted a C for English Lit. She is dyslexic and was lacking in confidence after Covid. I found Maria P on MyTutor and she was exactly what my daughter needed!
She planned meticulously, marked work, gave moral support and provided such a high level of very tailored intervention that my daughter blossomed. Results are not everything but today my daughter received an A* in English Lit – huge thanks to Maria for unlocking her potential!” – Bethan G
