Work out 2 and 3/4 x 1 and 5/7 Give your answer as a mixed number in its simplest form.

First make each fraction into an improper fraction so on the top of the first fraction it would be 3 + (2 x 4) = 3 + 8 = 11 therefore first fraction = 11/4 for the second fraction the top = 5 + (1 x 7) = 5 + 7 = 12 therefore the second fraction = 12/7 therefore the equation becomes 11/4 x 12/7 so on top = 11 x 12 = 132 and on bottom 4 x 7 = 28 so the unsimplified answer 132/28 this can be divided by 4 to give = 33/7 = 4 and 5/7
