How do I start writing a personal statement?

I'd recommend starting by writing down all the achievements/qualifications that you think could be relevant to a personal statement. Then make a second sheet filled with all the reasons why you want to do this subject. From this you will be inspired by all the reasons you want to do study your subject which will make writing the statement far easier and your eagerness will add energy to the statement. The sheets will also provide a list of things that should go in your statement and create a useful starting point for what could easily be a daunting task.
