State and explain one definition of abnormality

One definition of abnormality is failure to function adqeuately. This occurs when someone is unable to cope with ordinary demands of day to day living. In 1989 David Rosenham and Seligman proposed three signs that indicate if someone isn't coping. These are; they no longer conform to interpersonal rules (e.g maintaining eye contact), they experience severe personal distress and their behaviour is irrational or dangerous.
