Factorize the following expression and solve for x: X^2 +7X +10=0

Answer:  (X+5)(X+2)=0   X=-5 or -2 We first look for to numbers that multiply together to make 10 (1 and 10, 2 and 5 are the only pairs)  We choose the pair which also adds together to the 2nd term, 7. We can then factorise the expression as so. To check we have done this correctly, expand our brackets. We can solve for x by taking the 2 brackets and choosing the negative of the number inside as our solution for x.
