'A multimillion-pound industry has grown up concerned with manipulating Google rankings through a process called “search engine optimisation”.' What is suggested by this sentence? (Official LNAT Practice Paper)

Section A of the LNAT is multiple choice. The possible answers for this question from an official LNAT Practice Paper are:(a) There is too much information on Google. (b) Students can’t distinguish between good and bad content. (c) Google has too much power. (d) The material isn’t always accurate. (e) The rankings may not be reliable. We know the answer cannot be (a) as the statement does not refer to the amount of 'information' Google contains. The answer cannot be (b) as the statement does not refer to 'students' at any point. The answer is not (c) because, although the statement refers to a 'multimillion-pound industry', it is not referring to Google itself or the power it has. There may be some confusion as to whether the answer is (d) or (e), however, by breaking down each answer we can see that (e) is clearly the correct answer. The answer cannot be (d) because the statement does not explicitly refer to the accuracy of the information Google provides, it only refers to the ranking of the information. Therefore, if we chose answer (d) we would be making an unfounded assumption about the accuracy of the information Google provides. We can see that the answer is (e), because the statement refers to how Google rankings can be altered and manipulated by 'search engine optimisation' which has created a multimillion-pound industry. This tells us that people can pay to manipulate the Google rankings, thus, it can be inferred that the information may be presented in a way that is not 'reliable'.
