How should I write and structure my essays?

Planning your essay is the most important step to writing your essay. Every good history essay has judgements, specific evidence and analysis. To actually write the essay you need to ensure you are aware of you're assessment objectives in order to achieve full marks. Only by dissecting the assessment criteria for essays will you truly understand how much of each of the components you need will be.
However, in terms of standard essay practice for history A-levels you will need to come up with at least three to four factors for your longer essay questions to truly answer broad questions such as "was 'A' the main reason/cause for X? (30 Marks)". A good introduction and conclusion is also necessary and there must be a thread maintained within the essay as whole connecting it all together.
