What is the difference between meiosis and mitosis?

Meiosis consists of 2 separate divisions and produces 4 genetically different daughter cells, whereas in mitosis there is only one division and it produces 2 genetically identical daughter cells. Meiosis happens in gametes (testes and ovaries), whereas mitosis occurs in somatic tissue (everything apart from testes and ovaries)
