How should I pick a topic/question for my EPQ?

First of all, find a topic that interests you. It may be related to a subject that you are studying at A-level but it doesn't have to be. Then do some research on that topic. If it still interests you, and you feel that there is plenty to say on this topic, then it may be a good option for your EPQ. Good research and a topic of interest are the most important things for deciding on the area of focus for your EPQ.To decide on the question, do further research on your chosen topic and narrow your ideas down to a manageable amount - don't pick a broad topic as you will have too much to say and your EPQ will lose focus. It's important that your question focuses on a specific thing so that your EPQ can fully delve into the topic and not just skim the surface of something. For example, if you wanted to do your EPQ on the History of Mathematics then you would not want a question about the entire history, instead it should be focused to a specific time frame, for example, your question could ask about the mathematical advancements made by the Ancient Greek mathematicians only.
