How can i ensure i use A03 in my essay?

In the mark scheme A03 Is described as analysis and evaluation of sociological concepts. To ensure you include this in your answer make sure you don't just focus on describing the concepts. One of the most common ways to include A03 in your essay is to criticise theories. For example if you talk about Bernstein's elaborated and restricted code then you can criticise it by stating that he over generalises that all middle class pupils speak in the elaborated code. However, A03 is not just criticisms you can also evaluate by saying why the theory is plausible, for example Bernstein's theory draws upon how linguistic deprivation may cause differences in education attainment between classes. You can use these evaluative points to create an argument and come to a conclusion within your essay.
