"For Muslims, Adam is a more important Prophet than Ibrahim". Evaluate this statement.

Adam was the first man created by god and all Muslims believe they are descended from Adam. Adam is the first prophet mentioned in the Qu'ran and was seen as Gods most precious until he ate the forbidden fruit. The Islamic creation story which forms the base for Islamic belief, emphasises his importance in the Muslim faith.Yet, on the other hand, Ibrahim also holds major significance within Islamic beliefs. The celebration of Eid ul-Adha is based around the story of Ibrahim sacrificing his son, and reinforcing his own beliefs in God, through the building of the Ka'aba. This would suggest that he is just as important as Adam as a prophet. Both are of equal importance within Islam in the sense that they were prophets and contributed towards the formation of the religion. Yet Ibrahim appears to have a more active role within Islamic religious practices and celebrations as opposed to Adam
