What should I include in my personal statement?

This is a question most people think about before starting their statements- (or at least they should). My first piece of advice would be to think about what makes a good doctor, once you narrow down the skills you think a doctor should have then you should consider where you've learnt those skills. If the student is stuck on ideas I can show them my personal statement and break down my thought process of what I included and why. I started out with what motivated me about medicine, what I admired about the NHS and then I went into the more individual points such as my interest in science, summer schools, volunteering work etc.
