What is an Inverse function?

An inverse function is a function that "reverses" another function. That is, if f is a function mapping x to y, then the inverse function of f maps y back to x.[1]

Solve the equation 3sin^2(x) + sin(x) + 8 = 9cos^2(x), -180<X<180. Then find smallest positive solution of 3sin^2(2O-30) + sin(2O-30) + 8 = 9cos^2(2O-30).

I struggle with modelling with differential equation, is there an easier way of interpreting this type of wordy question?
