Solve the simultaneous equation: 3x+y=-2, -7x+5y=34.

3x+y=-2        ...1)

-7x+5y=34     ...2)

Using the substitution method:

Rearrange equation 1):

y=-3x-2       ...1))

substitute equation 1)) into eqaution 2)

-7x +5(-3x-2)=34

-7x-15x-10=34

-22x=44

x=-2

subsitute x into 1))

y=-3(-2) -2

y=4

Therefore, x=-2, y=4
