How does temperature affect the rate of diffusion?

An increase in temperature increases the activation energy of the atoms or molecules and therefore increases their net movement across a partially permeable membrane, increasing the rate of diffusion. A decrease in temperature decreases the activation energy of the molecules or atoms and therefore decreases their net movement across a partially permeable membrane, decreasing the rate of diffusion.
