What is a dynamic equilibrium?

In a dynamic equilibrium, both the forward reactions and backward reactions are still happening, but at the same rate. This means that the concentrations of the starting reactants and the products remain constant. Imagine a game of tug of war where people keep swapping sides, but at the same rate, so there is always the same number of people on both sides. The rope will remain relatively still. The people are in dynamic equilibrium.
