What is the difference between hard and soft power in global politics?

Hard power is a tangible concept. It consists of military and economic power. Hard power is the ability to coerce other states into conforming to your way of thinking.Soft power in an intangible form of power. It is the ability to influence states through diplomatic channels. Forms of soft power include strong diplomatic ties, embassies and conferences.
