In the context of place, explain the meaning of ‘endogenous factors’ and ‘exogenous factors’. (4 Marks)

Endogenous factors originate internally, this includes the topography of an area such as the relief of the land. They also include economic and demographic factors such as extent of development of an area or the infrastructure of an area. On the other hand, Exogenous factors are those that originate externally. This includes links with other places through either trade of flows of people, as well as political relationships to other places.
