Explain the type of movement and muscles involved during the upwards phase of a bicep curl

Flexion occurs at the elbow joint, this is due to the contraction of the Biceps Brachii (the agonist) and the relaxation of the Triceps Brachii (the antagonist) as muscles work in antagonistic pairs.
