How do I choose what to do for an A level project?

Ideation
Finding a problem to fix
This mainly consists of:
Firstly look at your own day to day life and where you have points in the day that you could make easier, more efficient, cheaper etc.If that doesn't work look at problems that others face. For instance start with a big problem like dementia and keep refining it until you reach a problem that can be fixed by a singular product or idea. For example people with dementia need to stay hydrated so you can look into designing a product that can do that singular function.
Next stage - coming up with ideas
Easiest way to do this is by looking at products that already exist and other products and objects within life for inspiration and for actually solving the problem come up with ridiculous ideas that are very much a concept and are futuristic or just crazy and refine them to be applicable to the real world and for them to be effective and easy enough to produce for your A level project.
