What is active transport the movement of and what does it need to occur? Give some examples of where is might occur in the human body.

Active transport is another method by which molecules are transported into and out of the body. It is the movment of solutes that have been dissolved in water into and out of the cell against their concentration gradient. This means they move the solutes across the cell membrane from areas of low concentrations of that solute to ares of high concentration of that solute. 

It needs a carrier protein to occur 

An example of where it occurs in the human body is in the cells of the small intestine.
