How is a corrie formed?

Corrie's are the starting point of a glacier where snow flakes collect in a hollow. As more snow falls the flakes compact and over time firn is formed. Pressure builds and it will eventually become glacial ice. Erosion occurs due to abrasion, plucking and freeze- thaw which deepens the hollow.
