The latest from MyTutor: schools sessions & report writing

· October 26, 2020

It’s been an unpredictable start to the new academic year – but we’ve been wowed by how you’ve all adapted, navigating the likes of local lockdowns and frantic freshers. Here’s what we’ve been up to at MyTutor HQ…

Waiting for work?

For those of you waiting for school lessons to start rolling in, thanks for your patience so far. Thanks to our existing school partners, we have 2.5k sessions starting in November, and we hope to bring even more schools on-board through the upcoming national tutoring programme! In the meantime, check you’re up-to-date with all the training we have on offer. It’ll make you even more confident in the (virtual) classroom.

What’s new for you 🎁

Speaking of training, we’re creating loads more modules based on feedback from tutors and teachers. Keep your eyes on your inbox for the chance to pick up skills, and win prizes while you’re at it.

We’re also rolling out lesson reports across every lesson – not just the first one. As of next week you’ll be able to stay even more on top of your tutoring, and keeping parents in the loop.

Our group tuition and new lesson space trials are off to flying starts. We love the fact we’re reaching more students than ever, and making the site more polished – we can’t wait for more of you to get involved.

MyTutor on your telly 📺

If you still haven’t seen our TV advert in the wild, then fear not – we’ve extended it’s run across a range of channels.  From ITV Breakfast to Sky Witness, we’re getting it in front of as many parents as possible. Plus, BBC London spoke to Oakland from our Schools Programme about how we’re working together to make effective online learning available to every child.

Tutor Tips and Tales 👂

Here’s a top tutoring tip from James, one of this year’s Tutor Awards winners.

“Remember that every single student is different; I work with a number of students and if I used the same tutoring style for all of them, I don’t think I’d get very far. I think the best tutors can adapt their teaching to fit the student.”

Do you have a top tip or a tutoring tale you want to share in our newsletter? Let us know here and we’ll feature you!

As always, if you have any questions or feedback, we’d love to hear from you. You can reach us on support@mytutor.co.uk or 0203 773 6024.
